At the heart of airport activity, the aircraft parking area is a hub of intense activity: staff, ground vehicles and aircraft move around in a precise ballet where every movement counts to ensure everyone’s safety and the smooth running of operations.
This meticulous coordination is essential. Collisions with aircraft on the ground remain one of the most feared incidents for operational continuity (structural damage, grounding, delays) and, above all, for the safety of ground staff and passengers.
To ensure everyone remains vigilant, the Airport Traffic Safety Collective (CSCA) is launching a new poster campaign based on feedback from the airside areas.
Objective: to raise awareness, prevent and sustainably reduce incidents
True to its daily commitment to enhanced safety, the CSAE, many of whose members work in close proximity to snow groomers, is delighted to be able to join this initiative.
Here are a few essential reminders to avoid accidents in Controlled Areas (runways, taxiways and aircraft parking areas):
- Anticipate manoeuvres and look far ahead
- Adjust your speed to visibility and traffic conditions
- Keep your eyes moving and banish all use of your phone while driving.
- Observe the direction of traffic
Let us work together every day to improve traffic safety in airport areas.
