The principles of the future operating instructions for loading units, more commonly known as containers, were presented at the CSAE’s CODIR meeting on 16 October.

Objective: to ensure rigorous use of these containers, better coordination between stakeholders and optimisation of their storage.

The result of a joint effort between authorities, airlines and ground handling staff, this regulation, which will come into force on 1 July 2026, sets out a clear framework for the responsibilities, traceability, storage and handling of these cargo units.

CSAE members praised the quality of this new usage framework, which could eventually inspire a similar application at Paris-Orly Airport.

The leader of this essential working group is the Head of Strategic Projects at Groupe ADP. He praised the remarkable collaborative effort, “which took the time necessary for each stakeholder to contribute.”
