Under the aegis of the FNAM, the CSCE (Compétence de Sécurité des Conducteurs et utilisateurs d’Engins aéroportuaires – Safety Competence for Drivers and Users of Airport Equipment) brings together airport operators using ramp equipment (ground handlers, airlines and airports) around a common objective: to enhance the safety of ground operations.
Because safety is a multi-factorial issue, from the outset the CSCE has sought to act on 3 main pillars:
- Reinforcing the safety of aircraft ground operations personnel
- Harmonising standards and practices in line with international professional benchmarks
- Facilitating dialogue between employers and contractors
The CSCE is involved in 3 main activities:
- Formalising and sharing shared requirements repositories
- Manage an audit and certification programme for companies involved in the approach
- Monitor and lead a feedback and best practice sharing programme
Since 2025, 3 companies have had their certification renewed or launched:
- GEH IFMA: certification renewed for 3 years
- AF Ground Operations: certification renewed for 3 years
- AVIAPARTNER: initial certification audit completed
Today, the majority of CSAE members using runway equipment are CSCE certified. A dynamic that illustrates the collective will to build a more harmonised and safer ground operation.
