CSAE presentation
CSAE brings together companies and groups whose purpose is to provide services to airlines, airports and passengers at French airports.
Created when the 1996 European directive on ground handling was implemented, it covers all companies whose activities are related to these services provided at Paris, metropolitan and overseas airports.
Originally based on the Convention Collective Nationale du Transport Aérien – Personnel au Sol (CCNTA-PS), it now covers all airport operators and represents more than 20,000 jobs.
Affiliated with the Fédération Nationale de l’Aviation et de ses Métiers FNAM, CSAE has become a key player in this organisation, particularly through its position as Vice President of the FNAM and President of its Social Commission. CSAE members are involved in all of its committees: Social Affairs, Technical Affairs, Environment, Aeropolitical Affairs, etc.
CSAE is also a member of the Economic Advisory Commissions of Paris Airports and a member of the Conseil Supérieur de l’Aviation Civile.

How it works
The CSAE relies on two bodies to develop its activities:
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting sets the strategic guidelines and elects the Executive Committee from among its members for a one-year term.
Executive Committee
The Management Board is CSAE’s executive body and meets automatically once a quarter and whenever events make it necessary.

Code of ethics
CSAE has a code of ethics which ensures the proper use of regulatory texts and gives a large place to social management, particularly during transfers of activity between players, approved by a simple majority of the general meeting.
The Environment and Innovation Commission
CSAE has set up its own Environment and Innovation Committee to propose greening and innovation strategies for the ground handling industry and to represent it in dealings with airport bodies and public authorities on all greening and innovation issues.
Our challenges
The stakes in ground handling are high:
- Ground handling is now an essential link in the chain of services offered to passengers and freight handlers, and ensures flight safety.
- As the largest employers at airports, the ground handling industry has mastered the technical nature of these professions and is able to cope with the seasonal nature of air transport.
- As the primary users of airport infrastructure, ground handling companies are committed to complying with the constraints and regulations specific to each of their businesses.
- The association brings together all French and foreign companies operating in one or more French airports and providing services related to airlines, airports and passengers.
Our objectives
To strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, courtesy and solidarity between its members, and to maintain fair competition between them and respect for the customs of the profession.
Promote the profession to all bodies and vis-à-vis all partners in the sector.
To participate in defining the branch’s social policy and national collective agreements within the FNAM, and to ensure that they are implemented.
To participate by all means in the promotion of ground handling services at French airports and in the improvement of tools and methods.
Promoting the necessary changes in regulations and the sustainable development of the business
To study the social, economic, environmental, legal and professional issues submitted to it and to seek all appropriate means of resolving them in the interests of its members.
To set up and provide any delegation called upon to sit, appraise, contract, arbitrate, settle or record on behalf of the profession or certain of its members.
Participate in all discussions concerning the profession and its future development
To defend the general interests of its members in all circumstances and to represent them, particularly in their relations with public authorities, administrations and professional bodies.
