Last December, the ADP Group organised Airport Innovation Days in Paris, a competition designed to identify the most promising start-ups to meet the challenges shared by all the airports in the network. The aim was to identify and test innovative solutions to improve the passenger experience, accelerate the digitalisation of operations and move towards the decarbonisation of all airport activities.
This scheme has already helped to identify high-performance start-ups and to deploy concrete solutions within the ADP Group’s airports. Among them, Wemaintain has optimised the predictive maintenance of essential equipment (escalators, lifts, HVAC), thereby reducing costs while improving infrastructure availability, a key factor that has contributed to CDG’s ranking among the world’s top five airports in terms of customer experience. For its part, Wintics uses video stream analysis to enhance security and optimise the management of airport operations, while ensuring strict compliance with the RGPD.
At the last event, ten finalist start-ups presented their projects and three winners were announced.
Unboared, winner of the first prize, is revolutionising airport gaming areas with an interactive solution that allows over 100 passengers to play games simultaneously on a single screen, using their phone as a controller.
Jabu, which won second prize, uses artificial intelligence to optimise the preparation of meals in the catering industry, thereby drastically reducing food waste.
Lastly, HyLight, which won third prize, is developing an innovative dirigible balloon capable of carrying out large-scale, silent, emission-free aerial inspection missions over long distances.
This initiative is part of ADP’s overall strategy, which focuses on innovation and collaboration with start-ups to fundamentally transform the airport sector. Through initiatives such as Airport Innovation Days, the ADP Group is accelerating the adoption of new technologies and shaping a more efficient, sustainable and forward-looking business model.
