The CSAE has decided to join the Freight and Airport Equipment Commission of the Bureau de Normalisation de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace (BNAE) in order to represent the voice of ground handling assistants in the development of technical and safety standards for airport equipment.
A strategic standardisation body
The BNAE Commission defines the national standardisation strategy for air freight and ground handling. It harmonises practices, anticipates regulatory changes and contributes to the safety of operations in conjunction with European and international bodies.
It was therefore natural for the CSAE to participate actively.
An indispensable user perspective
- Most of these BNAE standardisation areas are central to the operational expertise of CSAE members:
- Cargo and baggage loading units for aircraft,
- Development of materials designed to contain fire,
- Methods and equipment for securing cargo on board aircraft,
- Aircraft loading methods, training content, and quality control,
- Methods and equipment for de-icing aircraft on the ground,
- Design, use and layout of airport equipment,
- Safety requirements for airport equipment.
With its operational roots, the CSAE will contribute its practical expertise to future standards.
A commitment to safety
By joining the Commission, the CSAE is strengthening its efforts to prevent risks and protect airport personnel, contributing to the standardisation of safer and more suitable equipment and practices.
